Personality:
Stoic: Tyrael is very used to pain, he does not complain and he is hardened to the woes of others, rarely feeling, he simply watches. Hardly provoked, one could easily confuse him for a statue.
Secretive: Similar to a package deal, his reluctance to show emotion is tied with his adamant stance on his past. He will not reveal his past, simply because he does not trust anyone to keep it a secret.
Charismatic: Although he doesn't seem to care, he has a quite the silver tongue, weaving false promises and reassurances. He gets what he wants when he wants it.
Intelligent: Tyrael is a very well-educated man, and nothing escapes his hawk-like gaze. He seems to soak everything in and retain it for future use.
Cautious: Even the strongest warriors need to look twice. Calculated and efficient any moves he makes are withing the strictest parameters with very low margin of error.
Manipulative: Coupled with his intelligence his ability to manipulate is akin to a member of a noble family. Able to twist people and control them with his silver tongue.
History:
Tyrael was born as a the son of a traveling merchant, possessing a vast amount of internal power and as a mage his parents had no idea how to deal with him. Naturally the circle of Magi was involved, and he was taken away. On route, he disappeared along with the rest of the mages, never to be found again.
He reappeared in the wilds, and woke in the arms of a strange woman. She seemed kind and caring. Something at such a young tender age, he would have never been able to see through the guise. She was a strong witch, he reckoned she was a witch of the wilds, or at least an incredibly strong apostate.
She was for all intents and purposes, his mother. He grew up in the wilds, alone with the woman. She kept like she would a pet, she sang to him, taught him things he would have never learned on his own. Through his childhood he learned from the apostate, his innate magical prowess was like a lure to her. She could sense the Prodigious skills he had and she nurtured him. In return he loved, he was her favorite, her chosen.
How mistaken Tyrael was, he was never her favorite, simply an object to be observed and controlled, lacking the mental capacity to understand that he was simply a puppet. The fifth blight happened during his teens, and that's when he learned there was a world outside his own bubble. The Witch didn't let this stop her, she kept him by her side and he was to never leave, stuck in this prison. He was never allowed to explore, wander out of her gaze, everything was off limits.
Only later did he realize his plight, and how he needed to escape. In the dead of night he left, taking with him some of her texts, that were conveniently left unlocked. On his way out he felt a gaze, something that he couldn't quite pinpoint, it felt like a smile, and it chilled him to the core.
Tyrael took on odd jobs to help him gain some extra cash. Every once in a while he'd investigate a local legend. One of his incursions led him into the Brecilian Forest, his objective was to locate a particular set of armor. Not a gifted navigator he easily became lost, and met a particularly unfortunate set of circumstances. He was attacked and mortally wounded by a particularly dangerous group of spiders, although he killed them all, he was poisoned and near the brink of death.
He did not die, and instead woke to a Mad man, or at least a man who had lost touch with reality. This man had saved Tyrael's life. Tyrael stayed with the man for a few days while he recovered from his grievous wounds. In this time he learned a great many things about the forest, and about the man. He was an esteemed scholar who had learned that the lost art of being an arcane warrior was not lost at all. He hired a group of mercenaries into the forests ruins, the man was successful in finding the text, however his party was killed and he came out without his sanity.
The man had translated the texts but without a mage his greatest achievement would be forgotten, Tyrael was his redemption, the elves would reject him because of his race and the sanctioned mages wouldn't understand "apostate" magic. He needed an apostate of his own and Tyrael was his redemption.
Tyrael took the text and bid the man farewell, studying it deeply he began to gain a rudimentary grasp of the way of the Arcane warrior. He currently wanders from country to country doing what he needs to survive.
Battle Strategy
His quest for freedom and knowledge has led him all across the world and he has discovered many things. The tome he had "stolen" helped him discover the lost ways of the Arcane Warriors, and his innate magical prowess makes him a foe to be reckoned with. Tyrael often fights like a typical rogue he wears light armor and employs the use of daggers, often using normally frowned upon ways of combat. He gets in close and disables the enemy using crushing blows with the help of his magic. With his battlemage powers he is able to sustain himself off his enemies lifeforce.
The apostate has taught him the basics of magic and he has done extensive training to control it. He has a decent grasp of swordsmanship, even if his primary use of abilities resides in his magical potential. His speeds is unparalleled, his main weakness is his very light armor, he generally wears a purple tunic inscribed with multiple ruins, these augment his magical abilities at the cost of a reliable defense.
