Three Stories of a Nation
The Waltz of War
Civil war has been thrust upon a nation recovering from a ten year long war after only a brief year of peace. The nation's military was financially crippled at the beginning of 1059. Malamek Lani, and his Lieutenants Calvin Ariosh and Reavette started a rebellion by recruiting the remaining death cults and dark sorcerers in Cruinthe. They've raised an army of the disenfranchised. An army of the proletariat. And at the same time an army of darkness. Many of the people that had joined the Cruinthian Revolutionary Army's ranks have fallen and begun worshiping the dark gods. With these troops the CRA captured Fordeth, the royal city, and scattered the CDF to the south.
The Nobility is caught between a choice. Support a man that declines a crown, and speaks of liberty, yet openly uses the dark powers, and practices genocide, to attain the ends of Nahemoth in order to save their lives. Or stand against him and be slaughtered.
Baron Dumah liked neither of those choices, and instead crowned himself King of Se'Cruica, pledging to protect his own people by any means necessary. Even by taking in ex-traitors and using their skills to keep the CRA out of his lands.
The Pillars of Power
Powers centuries old vie for control over the land, seeking a bloody revenge for slights against them, and letting none get in their way of their goals. A hidden agenda drives a coven of sorceresses to raise the dead into forgotten ones, and plant trees of darkness. These powers seem to be unstoppable, as they are unfettered by the chains that shackle the rest of the world's magic.
The Black Tide Rises
Malamek Lani, at the behest of the sword Ithrandear, a greater demon of Nahemoth trapped in the blade, unleashed the first darkling to walk the world in eons. Sul'Rasa, the progenitor, proceeded to spread the Black Tide to Innorsford, founding the Hash'Gaki clan with its offspring in that area. From there it founded the Vanati clan with its offspring in the Bloody Foothills, and finally it settled the clan Felgallal in the southeast by the coast on the creeping crag. After that the progenitor disappeared, and the darklings began tearing apart the south.
