DUCKIE | ADALHEIDIS ROARK - 43 - DWARF - GREY WARDEN A member of the warrior caste, Adalheidis has spent the majority of her life working to live up to her role in society. She holds strength -- both mental and physical -- above most things when it comes to judging a person. Being a warrior has often overlapped with being a soldier for Adalheidis, and has made her both more disciplined and respectful of authority. It's also made her much more sensitive to sacrifices that people make. As a result Dwarves and fellow warriors (the job not the the class) are likely to get along with her without too much trouble.
Of course there are no absolutes in this kind of thing. Even the greatest warriors will disgust Adalheidis if they are frequently dismissive and self serving. Ignorance for other people's suffering links in with this and makes her very irritable very quickly. People in general who practice reckless activities that may harm themselves or -- more importantly -- others also earn her ire. Death talk has made her a bit uncomfortable as of late due to her coming Calling.
| | ISIDORA - 19 - DALISH ELF - FIRST Isidora has loved to learn, especially when it came to her race's lore, since she was a young child. After her magic surfaced it inspired her to begin work to become a Keeper, which has lead her to where she is now. Nationalist is a good word to describe her as a result. Her loyalty is to the Dalish first and foremost, with those who share her love of knowledge and magic close behind.
When it comes to things that will turn Isidora away from a person, the only group that is instantly disliked is humans. Even the City Elves are liked better, with Isidora actively pitying their subservient position and distance from their true culture. Otherwise, Isidora follows the Way of Three Trees like most Dalish. This means that those who try to change her, get in the way of her goals and purpose, or attempt to separate her from the Dalish will be treated with swift anger. If someone attempts to do any of these violently, Isidora is more than willing to use lethal force to protect herself and her people.

fuck it i legit don't want to deal with reply templates anymore lmao
alya is the warden-constable of ferelden, which means that she's gonna be ada's superior!! except she's one of those bosses who tries hard to not seem like such a boss, and so far it's worked out for her. she also happens to be a dalish elf who's gotten her blood writing, but she's so weirdly bouncy and lacking the usual dalish superiority complex to the point that few dalish even recognize her as one of their own LOL
although alya does not play favorites based on seniority, she does give personal preference to those who are closest to their calling, which includes mostly those who have survived the fifth blight. she's watched so many of her seniors fall that she also has a complex about being in charge because all the best qualified officers have already succumbed to the taint. i feel like that might be some interesting fodder for whatever we want to come out of this plot
i also have a freelancing assassin+bard who wanders thedas in search of work and an apostate who's just... doing whatever he's doing. research i guess. just in case you're interested!!!

Adalheidis && Alya Fancy templates are dumb anyway.
Okay, so first of all Alya seems really cool. Read her app and everything and wowie zowie what a girl. But anyway, I'm super cool with plotting with any wardens and I'm happy you're one of the first who showed! While Alya may not be big into acting like a boss, Heidi will sure treat her like one. She's come to disregard age due to how short a warden's life tends to be anyway, so she won't have a problem listening to a girl a bit younger than her.
I would really like some plotting and threads looking at the fact that she's begun to experience The Calling. Like 100%. Where we start with that is more or less up to you. I would assume that when wardens start to experience the little whispers they'll report it to a superior? So maybe we could start there? I really don't know much about Dragon Age so sorry if that doesn't make sense. They can also definitely just talk about fallen allies. Heidi has experienced a lot of that both before and after joining the Grey Wardens. Ummm, I Don't know what else to say! Guess just tell me what you think.

omg ty i am so flattered!!!
lmao i think we only have like...one other warden and she's...at work lolol DW i am sure that she is equally as excited to plot with u!!! even if her mage warden is a disrespectful lil shit!!!
honestly alya would probably feel more comfortable just treating ada as a friend since the "respect ur elders!!" thing was beaten into her as a kid and remembering that she's actually forty something and having to give her orders would just be...weird. alya might even be more inclined to give her ada more diplomacy-related missions like talking to the king of orzammar, as opposed to sending her down to the deep roads (and potentially bringing her calling even closer), and i think it would be cool if ada called her out on it.
haha its ok i am a newbie to dragon age too!! and yeah i can see alya having to handle that kind of thing since a) we dont have someone for the warden commander yet lol and b) they would have to know if theyre gonna do the prepping with the legion of the dead. she'd probably freak out a little and mother hen ada a bit before remembering that she's supposed to be impartial about this stuff lololol
do you want me to start, or can you? i kind of...have a lot of replies to get to atm..... lies down and cries

JAY & ADALHEIDIS so like, i think i have five or something threads going on for Jay right now but I still really want to post here.
jay herself might not be all that interesting to ada? idk. but she's pretty well connected to aka has background characters in the flying nugs mercenary group? i'm not sure if ada would actually be interested since these dwarves are mostly brands and all of them are surface dwarves who are outcasts in one way or another but?? idk maybe we can put our heads together and come up with some nice dwarven fun!!
i also have a tevinter slaver and an elven budding revolutionary in orlais but i'm not sure if there's any way to thread either of those with ada to begin with? if your interested at all though please let me know!

Hiiiiiiiiiiiiiii <3
I'm the other Warden player mentioned and Gabriel isn't...that...bad...kind of.
Gabriel He's thirty-two, a mage in the Orlesian Wardens who p much views the Wardens as a way to keep him out of the Circle and let him kill stuff. Yeah. But he's good at killing stuff, so the Wardens keep him around, although he's never going to be promoted. That would be a horrible idea.
He goes into the Deep Roads quite a bit; I'm not sure if she's avoiding them because of her Calling, but if she is, I suppose he could stumble into Orzammar after a mission and need patching up/a place to crash and they could run into each other? I imagine Wardens get shuffled off with other Wardens most of the time, if people can get away with it. "You're bleeding out all over my shop, there's a Warden down the lane go talk to her," kinda thing.

Sorry for being late on this! School year is ending so I'm crazy busy!
Anyway!
Adalheidis && Aya Heidi would be so mad about Aya dialing back her action! She has such a powerful warrior's pride, she'd love to get as much as action as possible before the Calling takes her. She's always wanted to be the hero she believes her father so, so she really hopes to do as much damage to the Darkspawn hordes as possible. On top of that she's not very good at diplomacy. Too rough and tumble.
As for reporting the coming Calling, she'd probably be pretty measured in the whole thing. She knew what was coming when she enlisted and has been expecting it for a time. The only thing she's really uncomfortable with is the fact that her body will likely be lost and she may not reunite with the Stone. Anyway, she'd probably be a bit surprised by Aya's mother henning, might accidentally scold her for a moment about it because -- like you said -- she's supposed to be impartial. This could be a fun thread.
Adalheidis && Jay Jay seems pretty interesting really! I think Adalheidis would probably know something of the mercenary group. She's done her best to become familiar with the surface, and one of the first things she likely did was find out about the outcast Dwarves -- if for no other reason than to make sure they didn't cause trouble. She'd probably find the whole thing pretty distasteful. While she's become pretty accepting as a member of the Grey Wardens it's likely she still carries a bit of prejudice towards the casteless and outcasted.
As for Jay herself, I think Adalheidis would probably respect her strength, though she feels the whole line of Mercenary work many of her people take part in is pretty unappealing. She's spent her whole life in allegiance to one party or another, so she can't really imagine letting someone buy your loyalty. But that's something that could be potentially worked around with a few drinks.
Adalheidis && Gabriel Oh woohoo another Warden. Adalheidis has probably limited her time in the Deep Roads for the sake of doing more good while she can, but she definitely still finds her way down there if for no other reason than become acquainted with her fate. I can see her spending time wandering about near them thinking about what's passed and what's coming. Probably as close to angsting as she gets on the matter. So maybe they can bump into each other in one of those situations?
The Orzammar meeting is another good idea! While she's no great healer Adalheidis knows how to patch up a wound and would be more than happy to give another Warden a bit of a hand before shipping him off to an actual medicine man or woman. I'm not sure how well these two will get along though. They're fairly opposite when it comes to motiviations. Adalheidis joined the Wardens to become more free but also to serve other people through destroying Darkspawn. Gabriel seems to be a bit more selfish. I don't know. We'll see!

it's fine if they don't get along, trust me. i can't...think of many people gabriel gets along with, actually. as long as they make a good thread, though, i'm happy. and i think they will!
i actually really like both starter ideas--what do you think about both of them? not in the same thread of course. maybe a 1st thread where they meet in the deep roads and a second when it's done where they meet again in orzammar and are like "hey it u" in a totally different situation? feel free to y/n
i also don't care who starts, so if you'd prefer to (or if you'd rather i start) just say the word.

Adalheidis && Gabriel Sounds good! I like the idea you've got there ~ I really don't care who starts. I could start one and then you could start the one after that? I don't care.

Adalheidis & Jay Well Danica (the group's leader) would probably ruffle feathers either way considering she still has edges from that wonderful casteless life. It's actually interesting because if I'm remembering correctly they are about the same age so there's that. Maybe they'd walk away hating each other, maybe they'd get along better after a few punches, maybe they'd find some kind of middleground/understanding without violence somehow, who knows. By the way the group is called the Flying Nugs so like. Wish Danica luck in getting Ada to take her seriously I guess?
As for Jay and Ada, that could be really interesting! Maybe. A few drinks or the right buttons pressed combined with lumping Jay in with Qunari and/or tal-vashoth and Jay might ... actually be as upfront with Ada as she is with herself where all that is concerned. Of course, I'm ... not sure yet how good of a grasp she has on the common tongue while drunk either so oops who knows how much Ada will actually be able to parse w common mixed with qunlat.

THIS PLOTTER HAS CHANGED! IT'S NOW MULTI AND INCLUDES ISIDORA!
Adalheidis && Gabriel I can start the meeting thread in the Deep Roads if you'd like!
Adalheidis && Jay I think Heidi would probably warm up to Danica given a few encounters, but there would definitely be a little bit of a nose up in response to the rough and tumble casteless mercenary. She would just see the whole thing a bit ridiculous. Especially with a name like the Flying Nugs! I don't know though, they'd have to really interact for me to figure out how they'll work out!
I honestly really like this plot we're building with Heidi and Jay! It'd be nice for Heidi to be tempted to change her views a bit on both the Qunari and Mercenaries. And by that I mostly mean she'd probably change her opinion on Jay and make her the exception. As for grasp of common when she's drunk, Heidi is a pretty good drinker but sadly doesn't really know any Quanlat. So, I assume that if she can't speak Common well while drunk Heidi will just have to make due!

Adalheidis & Jay It would be really interesting to just throw them in a thread somehow and see how this all unfolded. I'm assuming Ada would only be meeting/running into the Nugs for the first time with no backstory, right?
Yeah, I'm really liking the sound of this too! Do you want Jay and Ada/Ada and the Nugs to meet separately? (It'd be fine w/ me as long as it's okay with Tsun) If so would random encounters/locations be cool or is there something else you'd prefer for starting these things off?
Maeve and Isidora I will throw Maeve at every single elf I don't care.
Uh it's hard right now though since she's currently rooted in Val Royaeux but that's bound to change sometime so maybe after she's left or is possibly on the run. They could have some sort of random encounter? Maybe she runs into some trouble with templars/random humans and Isidora steps in? Unless that'd be out of character for her of course. Maeve feels too responsible to her people as a whole to join the dalish but she'd be so incredibly curious about what it might have been like and about dalish lore and history unfiltered by the chantry and she'd just. be so so excited.

Adalheidis && Jay I'm actually thinking a group interaction would be cool! Some talk about a shady group with a Qunari and Adalheidis is called up just to make sure everything is okay. Bumps into the Nugs and when Danica says something a bit of a confrontation goes on? I don't know. We could always introduce the separately if you want!
Isidora && Maeve So I like this. I like elf plots. I've made a lot of elf plots today. Anyway, I'm liking this thread in particular!
Isidora would totally come to a fellow Elf's aide! Especially when it involves escaping those barbaric humans. She'd come in all masks and shouting, root herself and scare them away with some magic and threatening Elvish. When they run off she takes the mask off and shoots Maeve a smile. That smile would only get bigger once Maeve shows interest in Dalish culture. Even if she doesn't wish to join, Isidora will take any chance to practice a bit of storytelling and lore knowledge on an Elf who's been deprived of it.

Adalheidis & Jay This sounds great, actually! Would you mind starting the thread? I can, but it'll take a while since I currently owe a handful of Jay posts, whoops.
Isidora & Maeve Maeve would probably be absolutely enchanted! And she'd probably soak up any and all information like a friggin sponge and have sooo many questions. Some of those questions might be about magic though and I'm not sure how that would go over? Like it would make sense for a Dalish elf to be wary of just doling out information some random city elf might take back to humans, even if Maeve would never do that. On the other hand, I'd be thrilled if Isidora's clan knew anything with regard to shapeshifting like Mahariel's does and that could be how Maeve got a handle on that specialization? But of course if not that's totally fine and if Isidora drew a "no magic talk" boundary Maeve would definitely adhere to it because having a friend/teacher in the Dalish would be more important to her.
