i'm interested in an orlesian nobleman who used to be freya's patron. last name raleigh, preferably around her age or older (24). manipulative, although not necessarily cold. charisma encouraged (orlesian nobility, man), but not required. any fc welcome.
freya was originally a bard for this character's father. that was when she stole secrets, lied, and performed for his functions. his son eventually won over her allegiance and freya picked up assassination for his sake. she dedicated herself to becoming his sword.
one day, he asks her to murder her first lord, his father. his politics had become unpopular as of late, and discontent ruled the courts. he told her to jump, and she only had to ask how high. it was a complex mission, and she definitely was not going to get away with the murder without backup. raleigh promised aid, and freya believed him.
that night, she ended up with blood on her hands and not a single ally in sight. he had betrayed her, and presumably he currently holds his father's old title.
maybe he really is the greedy bastard that freya believes him to be. maybe he had noble intentions but had to choose to give freya up for them. whatever the reason, i would like for it to be deeper than a simple misunderstanding or mistake.
freya and raleigh did used to have some less-than-platonic undertones in their relationship in the past, but i am 90 percent sure that she will not reciprocate feelings for him. or at least she will have no intention of pursuing anything with him again.
she currently travels thedas with a knife that raleigh had given to her as a present in the past. it bears the family crest that is engraved into the handle. if she ever fails another job and dies, she is vindictive enough to pin the ensuing scandal onto him. no one cares nearly as much about a bard as much as the patron family, after all.
