No, no, I'm really liking this idea. The Deep Roads are a creepy, fascinating place and tons of creepy, fascinating stuff happens down there. Plus it's kind of Gabriel's assignment to poke around down there and find out stuff for the secret Warden mission in DA2 that only exists to remind you something interesting is actually going on in Thedas while you're stuck in Kirkwall. Not that I'm bitter.

sure, if his pockets are somewhat deep. loyalty can be bought and sold, but freya just doesn't defect for a higher bid. contracts are usually on a job-by-job basis, as she's loathe to chain herself to powerful rich men after what happened with the last one.

LAIKA OF GS! | FELIX x MARK | A missing member of the Amell family turned blood mage, now thats one thats gonna attract Felix's attention.
He absolutely despises blood mage's of any kind, and for one as elusive as Mark, he's going to put in every measure he has to make his life a living hell. Not to mention he's probably going to hunt him down, like cat chasing a mouse, the Thedas version of Tom and Jerry.
Every time Felix gets close to cornering the little bastard he pulls some kind of stunt or ends up getting away, making Felix hate him even more.
Either way, Felix will hate Mark's guts, and there is not going to be that many instances he won't.
Being the Templar he is, I'm sure Mark will catch wind that such a hardcore dude wants his head on a pike.

LAIKA OF GS! | Felix x ALYA | It's possible he could be viewed as a potential Grey Warden recruit, especially since he's been able to fend off the Darkspawn before. They're both Templars, and him being all the buzz in the Templar order, it's possible she's heard of him.
I'm not sure how they'd meet, since he moves in and out of Denerim and every other country. He could offer to help the Wardens for information on any apostates, although im not sure how the wardens feel bout that kind of thing.

honestly i do not think that felix would know about mark through the amell family just bc it was such a scandal and i can imagine that people tried to cover it up. i mean he literally got sent to another country so that the amells could get some peace and quiet. mark is also not one of those showy blood mages either, so he wouldn't have a reputation of leaving bloody bodies everywhere he went.
unless of course he is in an extremely dangerous situation that he cannot get out of so easily. in that case, maybe felix has cornered him once before. maybe he has heard about the rumors at the battle of denerim (the circle of magi were allies against the archdemon). i'm js that whenever mark does use his blood magic, they're usually in some situations with gravitas, and not just...everyday use.
honestly tho mark is a little piece of shit who probably secretly enjoys the challenge. and calls felix his "secret admirer" who just "can't bear to be separated from him".

v v possible!!! in general alya does not go out of her way to recruit just because it has a good chance of ending up as someone's death sentence, and thedas is not under a blight. she's happy to talk to anyone about her job, though. i feel like she does have positive connections in the templar order in general if you would like to build on that.
HOWEVER alya takes warden neutrality v v seriously and would never ally with templars as a formal agreement. she is also not anti-mage so she would not be selling out any apostates that she meets. i mean, she literally works with warden mages and regards them as comrades-in-arms, and no less than any other warrior or rogue. i think that could be an interesting point of disagreement between them.

Either way, I love the idea of Mark infuriating Felix to the point where he cant actually break his whole Silent Warrior mentality.
I've also got like a little sideplot I need filled for Felix, if you want I could PM you about it.

tbh freya is not a hollywood villain. meaning that if she gets ahold of her mark, she's just going to kill them point blank, no stalling or questions asked. so i think felix would have to get there first, or incapitate her. freya can be pretty vicious in the case of the latter, fair warning.
mark-
i would probs have less qualms usually, but i've just built so much backstory about how difficult of a time mark has had with finding out about himself. i'm okay if felix only follows up on hearsay (like the disaster during the broken circle in which most mages were dead or incapitated by a wave of demons and abominations). i mean obviously templars would have more resources than an apostate, but i would still like to keep the precise details extremely fuzzy. like it would be odd if felix straight up knew every detail about mark's life. the blood magic only comes out if he feels extremely life threatened, and mark tends to avoid life threatening situations
EDIT: i thought of something. maybe we could throw in some justification for that anger if felix had any ferelden templar buddies bc mark may or may not have uh. slain them with blood magic during the broken circle back when they were convinced that all mages had to be purged. no witnesses, but i think templars would be able to identify injuries that were caused by blood magic at least

alya -
she's seen more recruits die during their joining than she can count, so she's probably going to interrogate him hard about his motivations and conviction. i asked tsun about this, and felix cannot legally be a templar+seeker+warden at the same time. i mean the divided loyalties between the seekers and the templars during this time would be hard enough, but wardens literally have to give up all their worldly titles, occupations, and property. if she sees that he has ANY hesitation about quitting life as a templar, she's not going to recommend him. if he straight up refuses to quit the templar order, wardenhood is just not possible. alya has been a warden for long enough to know that skill is not the most important quality in a warden.
also if he is joining the ferelden branch of the wardens, that means alya is going to be his superior, and she is definitely not going to like his anti-mage tendencies if it interferes with teamwork. killing mages as a side job is just not very apolitical as far as alya is concerned

cute plots are always welcome!!! i actually kind of like that idea, but idk if it should be outside of val royaeux and she's made up her own little cover or he's lost and a bit too close to the alienage for comfort so she let's him in at the risk of, uh, being labelled a troublemaker/drawing templar attention bc man it'd suck to see a shem grey warden get a beatdown bc he doesn't know his way around town. if he was still impersonating a grey warden anyway. which, you know, he might also get questions about OOPS.

i... don't have anything concrete really i'm sorry. a random map encounter would be fine? maybe maeve gets in trouble trying to fetch something outside city walls and alya helps her out? or maybe she just sees a grey warden dalish elf walking around val royaeux and maeve gets sidetracked following her w stars in her eyes and apologizes profusely if she gets caught bc wow how embarrassing is that.

I've got a plot idea that was going to tie in with Mark like I said earlier, this will get him permanently removed from the Templar order, after that happens we can start the interview thread
