Knight-Lieutenant in the Templar Order. Practical. Strict. Independant. Devout. Melisande ;; Short Info Blurb Being a workaholic, as well as being moved about to different posts a lot, Meli doesn't have a huge social circle, and the friends she does make often get lost along the way. It makes her prone to distance herself from any 'friends', and her fellow templars rarely have a positive view of her, due to her hardassed tendencies. It takes a surprising amount to make a legitimate enemy out of Meli. Rivalry, perhaps, mild annoyance, definitely common - but she's too busy, and doesn't have time for petty greivences. She has a callous attitude towards most people, but that's merely her indifference – no, if she dislikes you...for someone who thinks of herself as an honorable warrior, she's fond of underhanded tactics and passive aggression. And if you think she'd bad with normal socializing, that's nothing compared to how she handles romance...in which I mean she doesn't handle it at all. She will run away from just about anything related to that...getting her to not to is a miracle in itself. Wanted and/or Goals Open to all the things 8I I don't have any ideas in particular that I want filled for the moment, just want to get her out there. I do have an overall goal to have her become disillusioned with the Templars and leave their ranks, but it will take some pushing, so any characters (or ideas for already established relationships) that might help push that along is always welcome. Sythnia ;; Short Info Blurb She looks, breaths, and lives highborn socialite, from knowing exactly who to flatter or who would ruin her reputation just by speaking to them just from crowd watching. To most people, she comes off as courteous, graceful, and had even been called pleasant before. The reality is, politics is a two-sided game, and Sythnia is as lethal a flower as any of them. She sets up her pawns all in a neat row, many of them expendable. If you know nothing else about her, know this – she's Tevinter through and through, and that is her only true loyalty – everyone else in extendible, and she carries no remorse for them. Her 'friends' are people beneficial to her, her enemies are likely former 'friends' who lost their use, or a casualty of political war. Anyone who believe they were ever 'more than friends' – well, she does have a habit of flirting shamelessly with the higher echelon to get what she needs, but it never goes farther than that. She's not resentful, nor malicious – you can fight at her side, or get crushed under her heel. Wanted and/or Goals No specific anything wanted for her as of yet! It's a free-for all guys have fun – I know you people who have Tevinters are eyeballin' her like a piece of meat. I also have no specific personal plot direction for her yet, cause she's a fresh shiny new baby =u= Will probably think of something later, though. |

I can't think of anything I want as much as I want for them to thread together, omfg. He's an asshole of a Grey Warden mage who is good at one thing and one thing only: killing darkspawn. He really loves his (relative) freedom as a mage in the Order and I can't imagine he isn't the most annoying annoyance to ever walk Thedas when he gets a chance to piss off templars.
If she doesn't know he's a mage right away and thinks that he's just a regular Grey Warden (which is v possible) he might hit on her for shits and giggles, tbh. I just. I dunno even what their relationship might be; definitely antagonistic, but the level of intensity could certainly vary, from "casual annoyance" to "actual hatred" to "blood feud", lmao.

Meli & Gabriel Antagonistic relationships are my favorites (◡‿◡✿)
She probably wouldn't know he was a mage straight off, so that'd just be like a BAM! Icing on the cake after she found out he was sorta a pain in the ass. It would definitely be interesting because even when he started being a pain in the ass to her, Meli would just try to grind her teeth because Grey Warden, maybe it's not a good idea to piss one off, what happened to all those stories about them being honorable warriors, pft bullshit is what it is. I know one way he could quickly end up on her shit list if shoving his foot into something that should be her jurisdiction at any point – which Wardens have a habit of doing :'D

MELI + EUSARIUS hi dani! aww, i love melisande so i feel bad about throwing eusarius at her. basically, he's this haughty magister who swans around orlais protected by diplomatic impunity. and while he's not a sadist by any means, he's not exactly the nicest guy. so it might be interesting to see these two interact. i have virtually no idea how they would meet, but i'm open for suggestions <3
| MELI + JENOVA alternatively there is my smuggler city elf, jenova. i wasn't actually sure about how to plot them together, but say... jenova starts targeting current templars as buyers for her smuggled lyrium. i imagine melisande wouldn't be too happy about that and might try to interfere?

No, no, Warden meddling is a great idea, I love it. If I recall, Jader is pretty close to Montsimmard--well, by Thedas standards, anyway--and especially if she's tasked there on "stop fleeing mage" business, Gabriel might kind of squirm up in her way. I doubt he'd ever invoke the Right of Conscription, or something, but he might try and always pop up right when she's about to apprehend or capture a rogue mage how many are running around anyway? Or he could be an annoyance in a multitude of other ways, tbh, he's good at that. I think he has a nasty habit of sometimes breaking out magic in bar fights and terrifying everyone for miles, so maybe she gets called to deal with that?

i imagine this would not end well. i imagine a tom and jerry scenario quite possibly. buuuut mark sometimes goes around in grey warden robes to sneak around templars so maybe she could see him and be like "gods ANOTHER warden mage wtf they breed like flies". he's pretty nice unless someone proves to be exceptionally interesting to him, however.

Well, hmm lets see...right now Meli is playing border guard for Orlais, technically, and I suspect if he passed through Jader she's definitely hear about a magister in town and go 'well fuck' and probs check the situation out herself. And regret it bwuha. Meli & JENOVA That could actually be quite entertaining because I have a bit of a headcanon that Meli has clash issues with city guards over jurisdiction and can you imagine the hell that would cause with them fighting over who had the right to take in the thief (◡‿◡✿) It could be an ongoing saga of 'no she screwed over more of my people than yours kindly go eat a dick'. If we want to start with the idea of Meli not knowing Gabriel is a mage right away, we could have a thread where he pops up in Jader for the first time and very smarmily introduces himself to her as the senior Grey Warden surveying the area, invites her out for drinks formally or something to "establish connections" and then gets absoloutely trashed and probably sets fire to something and it all spirals from there?

to be honest i think mark would be highly amused at the prospect of being shoulder buddies with a templar lieutenant and milk it for irony points
so yeah i imagine that the templars aren't exactly fond of the wardens from what we garner about alistair's joining in the game. so that lack of closeness would help explain meli not seeing through mark's warden disguise immediately? he probably won't be stupid enough to be the Warden all the time either and just be like "please call me mark - i want to be seen as a real person, and not just another warden, meli. a real person loved by the maker and not another sacrificial sheep"

Meli & Gabriel That sounds fab to me (for reals lack of sleep ideas end up being the best trust me), I can try to start it when I can if you want me to, but I'm am mildly distracted by reading Asunder atm so I may be slow with it :'D Meli & Mark Oh my god I love it hahahah. It's so terrible and lovely =u= Yeah she doesn't mind Wardens until they step all in her jurisdiction so it'd work pretty well for him (because since he's NOT AN ACTUAL ONE he can't actually do that so tada) to be able to slide under the radar. So long as he can deal with Meli's hella awks people skills along the way.
